After you conquer Shanks Base Level 10, the bounties option under the quests will be displayed, showing that you need to defeat the Shanks boss again for a chance at winning a piece of wolf gargoyle armor. Just like looking for the gargoyle armor, not every attack will win a piece of wolf armor, so you will need to attack and beat the boss multiple times.
